Before performing any of these listed tips, be sure to turn off your computer and unplug it.  For laptop’s take out your battery.  By following these 5 tips you will eliminate fan blockage which will help stop your computer from overheating, help eliminate the sludge lurking in your keyboard that may one day mold to your keys and ruin your keyboard and keep your screen clear so you can enjoy your browsing even more.

1.  When trying to clean your screen many of you reach for the windex and spritz away on your screen before wiping it off.  This is not the advised way to go about cleaning your screen because it can cause issues in both your screen and your inverter, which gives your screen light.  Instead of spraying the Windex directly on the screen, try spraying a small ammount on a paper towel and wiping down your screen gently.  If the little peices of paper towel that get left behind bother you, try a simpler and more effective way of cleaning with screen cleaning wipes.

2. If your computer sounds like an airplane’s engine as it takes off as it starts its probably because of buildup in the fan/vents. To get rid of the build-up try using compressed air to blow out your vents and fan. Be careful to read the instructions on the can before use. This is the brand that we recommend.

3. Our keyboard receive the brunt of the abuse usually, weither we are eating over it or accidentally spill something on it, that all builds up under the keys and eventually can become a sticky disaster that kills our keyboard. You can blow out the crumbs with your handy compressed air and apply a bit of rubbing alcohal and apply it gently around and over your keys using a q-tip. The q-tip should not be dripping or soaked when doing this only damp.

4. Now that your fan’s and vents are clean on your laptop, a great way to keep them that way is to sit the laptop on a hard flat dry surface, try keeping it away from fabric surfaces. If you have animals with long fur try keeping the fur balls away from your laptop as best as possible. If not you can always purchase a handy fan table/tray. They come in many different styles from little handy tables and trays for your lap. Here are a few that we recommend.

5. When traveling, avoid putting your computer in the car on the floor or seat. Purchase a bag for your computer as its dust/dirt safe travel companion. Protecting it from the elements is half of the battle, any of these bags would do the trick.

Tips For Keeping Your Laptop Running Smoothly For Longer!

1.  Making sure that you unplug your charger from your laptop before you go walking around the house or office with it, this can save you from doing an DC Jack repair on your laptop.  When your ac adapter is plugged in and in your arms with you as you move around, you are actually moving the tip of it within the jack of your laptop, loosening the sodering of the DC Jack onto your motherboard, which in time can cause either your DC Jack to go bad, or for it to separate from your motherboard and stop your computer from charging, and running.

2.  We all have times were turning the computer off by accessing the option within your start menu doesn’t seem like it will happen.  Weither your computer is frozen or you need to turn off your computer quickly, closing the lid or pressing and holding the power button shouldn’t be used unless you have no other choice.  Powering the computer off this way actually shorts out processes as well as your computer and your harddrive and is known to cause a bad harddrive and a bad motherboard.  Instead just set the computer aside when it freezes for a bit and wait for it to pull itself out of a jam.
